ER - All law groups endorse Dikeman for district attorney

All law groups endorse Dikeman for district attorney
5/6/2006

Dear Editor,

Worth Dikeman, who is running in our next election against Paul Gallegos for District Attorney, has received the endorsement of every law enforcement agency in the county. Let me repeat, every law enforcement agency in the county!

Wake up, Humboldt County voters! This means that nearly every public agency that has dealings with the D.A.’s Office wants Worth Dikeman to replace Mr. Gallegos.

Notice also, voters that the D.A. investigators who work directly with and for Mr. Gallegos also want him out and Mr. Dikeman in. These employees virtually want to fire their boss for his inability to fulfill the job for which he was elected.

Our local law enforcement agencies want a district attorney who will prosecute the criminals they are arresting, not plea bargaining with them or even letting them go with out going to trial.

Considering this such an important race, I am amazed that The Eureka Reporter has chosen to report such noteworthy news on the second page down in the bottom corner where it might be overlooked by readers while front page news for that day was current District Attorney Gallegos listening to persons who have pending trials, pleading with him in a public forum to let them go.

Voters of Humboldt County, join with all law enforcement agencies in our fine county to restore order and justice to our District Attorney’s Office by voting for Worth Dikeman this June 6.

(Editor’s note: We have treated news releases of endorsements the same way for both campaigns. This was done so we could not be accused of favortism. There will be a follow-up story on the law enforcement endorsements. Lastly, the district attorney showing up at a community meeting in Arcata is newsworthy
