Speaking of fiery, Salzman, illegal immigrants

Speaking of fiery,
Salzman, illegal immigrants
Dear Editor,

I wish to question your fiery editorial “Never Forget Pearl Harbor.” What is the big whoop? Japan is now a major trading partner, and in the intervening years, this country has invaded 22 small countries on a variety of pretexts. Time to move on.

Next, your incredibly pro Israel editorials and cartoons are sadly out of touch with the new reality: The world is now aware that Israel’s “land-
over-peace” policy has as much to do with terrorism as any Arab fanaticism. Your one-sided slant simply reveals your bias, but does little to recognize facts, or to promote peace in the region.

Next, Richard Salzman’s recent attack on Mr. Sears, and the Taxpayers’ League. I thought I was a member of the Alliance for Ethical Business, and do not remember the vote to authorize Salzman speak to the issue on behalf of the alliance. Loose cannon?

Also, in his attack, Salzman drifts from the league’s disclosure issue, to attacking the reasons for voting down the tax increase. This, in typical liberal fashion, insults our Democratic process, and presumes that Richard, and the whole "conscience class" knows better than we voters do, what is good for us. (Think Proposition 187, and the Democrats not supporting it in court.)

I believe that this arrogance is the real reason why George W. Bush is President, as Americans, choosing the lesser of two evils, are sick of minority rule, and rule by those who pretend, like religious zealots of old, to know "what the right thing to do is,” and proceed to ram it down our throats at any cost.

Richard’s characterization of illegal immigrants as “weak,” politically, ignores their place in the Democrats’ "minority rule" coalition, and how they are now 37 percent of our state’s population and 50 percent of its school children. They are also able to fend off any attempt by state voters to control their access to the public trough.
