Observation in 'About Town' column was disappointing
7/15/2005
Dear Editor,
I am increasingly disappointed in the direction the ER seems to be taking.
What I thought was going to be a fresh new newspaper seems to be turning into a political/special interest pamphlet.
As an example, consider Ms. Andrea Arnot’s July 10 “About Town” article in which she refers to Mr. Richard Salzman as “new age politico-wannabee Richard Salzman” and goes on to add, “Watch out Eurekans, Salzman’s still in town!”
While both The Eureka Reporter and Ms. Arnot are certainly entitled to their own opinions of Mr. Salzman and his political activities, that’s exactly what they are, opinions and not news.
As such, they belong on the Opinion page and not in a news article.
I expected better.

(Editor’s Note: Andrea Arnot’s “About Town” is a column, not a news article. Opinions expressed in columns and guest opinions do not necessarily represent those of The Eureka Reporter or its staff.)

And for the record, Cletus Isbell is one of Salzman's Orks. I should post the collected works of Cletus Isbell, flaming nutjob.
